Words & Gestures

What marriage would be good without a few compliments and reaffirming gestures? Everyone likes to be given a compliment, or receive a loving touch. It affirms your love for your mate and gives a sense of security to them and your marriage. Try giving one, you will be appreciated and maybe even surprised at the response. Now if your spouse is not used to you giving compliments and loving gestures, be patient. Just as this is new for you to give, it is new for them to receive. However benefiting from loving words and gestures never grow old. Go ahead and love on your mate with loving words and gestures.

Song of Solomon 1:12-16 (NLT)   The king is lying on his couch, enchanted by the fragrance of my perfume. 13 My lover is like a sachet of myrrh lying between my breasts. 14 He is like a bouquet of sweet henna blossoms from the vineyards of En-gedi. 15 How beautiful you are, my darling, how beautiful! Your eyes are like doves.16 You are so handsome, my love, pleasing beyond words! ...

A Lifetime of Devotion

Getting married requires a great deal of devotion to one individual as your mate. In reality it should be nothing like what is portrayed on the sitcoms, t.v. shows, movies and music of today. Marriage is NOT to be entered into lightly. Therefore if you are not ready to make that lifetime of devotion to one person spare the both of you. Marriage is not for those with a faint, finicky heart, and no devotion.

1Corinthians 13:7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Profession of Love

Remember the day you were married? You stood before witnesses professing your love, forsaking all others and undying commitment to your mate? Your profession of love from your lips before God and your witnesses must be followed by actions. It is also a profession of your love to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and God.

John 14:15 (NKJV) “If you love Me, keep[b] My commandments.
Mark 10:19 (NKJV) You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’

Choose to keep God's Commandments and your covenant.

Chivalry

Wives,
Remember how the doors were opened for you?
You were escorted places & the chairs were pulled out.
You were helped in and out of places?
. . . those were the days.

Ephesians 5:25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church.
He gave up his life for her.

Now your husband has a real opportunity to impress you!
And you thought those days were over.
Wives make sure you acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifices your husband makes for you.

Wives, do not give up; men give it up!
 Chivalry just got better!

Everything

What direction would the church be headed if it did not submit to the Head of the church?
Would it reach it's goal? Would God be glorified or for that matter satisfied? I think not!
For this same reason some families do not know where they are headed.  The wife needs to submit to the husband in all things so that the family can be in harmony; achieving the same goals, traveling the same direction and be counted as successful. God holds the husband responsible for everything in the household. Allow your husband to lead, because God is requiring him to lead you and your family.

Ephesians 5:24 As the church submits to Christ,
so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.

Head First

Let's think about it. Before you step somewhere you look first.
Before you enter somewhere unsafe, you check to make sure it's safe first.
For the household it's the head first! Ladies let the husbands lead!
Men step up and lead! It's Head First!

Ephesians 5:23  For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church.
He is the Savior of his body, the church.

Temperature Check

We like our food a certain way
hot food HOT, cold stuff COLD

When its temperature changes we do something to change it back to our desirable state.
Most of the time we won't even eat it if it's not the way we like it.

God is the same way. However YOU are the one who has to change your temperature.
Be set in your way. Be HOT Follow God or don't and be COLD, being in-between won't do you any good. Thinking having one foot in the door is safe, is only deception.

Revelation 3:15-16 (NLT)
“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!

Conceded Love

In your marriage is it really all about you and you getting your way in order for you to be happy?
Do you always have to be right and get your way?
If you don't have it your way like Burger King you are just not happy?
Will you not be flexible and demand it your way, or no way?

I'm Talking about love
1 Corinthians 13:5 It does not demand its own way
don't be a conceited lover
be a conceding lover
Allow your spouse to be right and have their way sometimes, it's more rewarding.

Daily Nourishment

We stop by our favorite fast food place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We love to eat don't we? Not everything we eat is healthy for us. There is no hope for someone who continues to feed themselves on an unhealthy diet. When your physical body is not properly nourished it makes it hard for you to optimize your physical performance.

The same concept applies to your salvation experience. In order for you to grow spiritually and get the most out of your spiritual walk you must nourish yourself with the PURE WORD OF GOD. Filling your spirit with saying that are not truth, singing songs that have no truth, and sermons with no scripture are not nourishing to your spirit. You will never be nourished to maximize your spiritual potential. Be mindful of what you put into your spirit, examine before you eat.

A Healthy diet of Truth & the Word of God does a Christian's Spirit Good.
Remember to eat to live not love to eat!. Be mindful of what you put into your spirit.

1 Peter 2:2 (NLT)
Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,
